First, we care about you and the experience you have with us. Jill takes time with each of her clients to understand their personality. We create unique, creative, and innovative images to showcase who you are. We believe you will enjoy your images as much 20 years from now as you do today.
Some FAQs to help you:
Why does my school say I have to use a certain photographer for my senior pictures?
You have to have your yearbook picture taken by the contracted photographer to be in the yearbook. You do NOT have to BUY your portraits from them. You are only required to have your formal drape (girls) or tux (guys) image taken there. You do have a choice when it comes to the fun part of your session.
And, by the way, if they do charge a session fee for the formal image, bring your receipt in to us and we'll apply it as a credit towards your portrait order!
Two reasons your school uses a contracted photographer:
One, schools want the yearbook pictures to all look the same. And two, a high percentage of what you spend for school portraits, goes directly to the school itself...other words, school portraits are yet another school fundraiser.
Order your senior portraits from a studio based on the quality and style you like best, not because your school requests you to.
Why is there a big price difference in pictures?
Like anything else you buy, there can be big quality differences. Jill takes the time to ensure that all of the details are perfect. The lighting is just right, your hair looks perfect, that your backgrounds coordinate well with your clothing. We use the best equipment and software, spend more time with our clients and create archive prints that will last a lifetime. The contracted photographer is not always professionally trained and invests less time per client. They may offer a lower price, but the quality usually shows it. And once you pay for any additional retouching, you may be shocked at how much they really cost. At JFP, we put a lot of effort into what we do and we think you're worth it.
Do you have portrait packages?
Yes! We have some pre-created packages (look back at "the prices" tab) to assist you in your choice, but we also offer the ability to create your own package, giving you the flexibility to create the groupings that best meet your needs. We are sensitive to our client's budgets and work to ensure we stay within the guidelines they set for us. We do not pressure our clients into making purchases they are not prepared to make.
How does payment work?
You pay a session retainer at the time of booking your session to guarantee your time spot. When you place your order, you will need to put down a minimum of 60% with the remaining balance due in full upon delivery of your finished portraits.
Why do I prepay for my session?
Like reserving a hotel room, we require that you pre pay for your session time (and minimum purchase if there is one) to guarantee your spot. If you need to reschedule, just give us 2 business day’s notice and your appointment can be moved. In the case of a cancellation within 2 business days, your purchase advance is refunded but your session fee is not.
When is the best time to get senior portraits taken?
Most seniors schedule their portraits in summer and fall. There are more location options, you have a good tan and after school activities don't get in the way. And once school starts-up again, it becomes increasingly difficult to coordinate a senior’s schedule. May through October is ideal for outdoor portraits. Once November gets here, leaves fall off the trees and the grass starts turning brown - not a great option for outdoor photography.
Another photographer has a nice saying that, "our portraits aren't expensive, they're priceless." After making sure everyone is safe, your family’s portraits are the next thing people think to save if your home is in danger. Portraits truly appreciate in value over time. They connect you with the past and allow you to share the past with your future generations. We treat each session as an heirloom you can pass down for generations.
Our Guarantee to You:
We guarantee our work 100%. If you are not completely satisfied with your images, we can refund your session fee or we'll schedule a re-shoot to replace the first session. We want you to be happy, and we'll go the extra mile to make it so. The same goes for a finished order. If you’re not happy, we will reprint them or select a new pose to print. We're going to sit down, discuss the issues and fix what you didn’t like or we will give you your money back.
